For the first time in Russia the water intake model and water treatment facilities are tested in actual operating conditions

On October 24, 2008 near village Dugino, Rostov region, there took place an extended scientific and technological council on concluding a large scale production experiment on treatment and disinfection of the surface water from the river Don, as a result of it there will be built a new water intake with the treatment facilities and water pipeline complex. Semi-industrial stand allowed modeling all main consequently realized technological processes of the complex water treatment and disinfection.

According to the developer Mikhail Zhurba, Doctor of Technical Science from GUP, in the production experimental model they use a three-stage water treatment with the use of modern physical and chemical methods. An experimental plant will be used as a basis for reasoning of the technological parameters for the Don River treatment processes and disinfection, which are the initial data for new water intake designing. The treatment parameters may be efficiently changed in accordance with the qualitative characteristics of the water, coming into the plant at a certain period of time, which is important not only from the ecological point of view, but from the economical efficiency as well. 

The improved technology is tested together with the specialists from LLC «Evrasiyskiy — project decisions», JSC «Водоканал Rostov-on-Don», GUP «MosvodokanalNIIproject» and FGUP «Rostovskiy NII KX», with the participation of companies «Svarog», «Aquakhlor», «Ekofes», «Energeticheskiye aktivy».

JSC «Evrasiyskiy» together with the Administrations of Rostov region, Rostov-on-Don and scientists carry out realization of the «Complex program of construction and reconstruction of the objects of water supply and water disposal in Rostov-on-Don and south-west of Rostov region».

— It is really a unique project, — said Yashechkin S.V., the Chairman of Board of Directors, OAO «Evrasiyskiy». For the first time in Russia a private investor entered in water supply and water disposal business to such an extent. 

The experimental model capacity is 50 m³ per day depending on the technological modes. The experiment will result in construction of the new water intake with the complex of treatment facilities and water line from the water intake till south-western outskirts of Rostov with the capacity up to 300 thousand m³/day (first stage — 150 thousand m³/day) on the basis of the chosen technology. The construction will remove restrictions on Rostov infrastructural development, — says Mikhail Chernyshev, Head of the city Administration, — it will allow creating the infrastructure for construction of new residential community districts, including Liventsovskiy district. Besides, it will help avoid long-distance transportation of water through the rugged relief with intensive city development, — says Yuriy Petrov, chief engineer of LLC «Evrasiyskiy — project decisions».

Construction of new water intake with a complex of water treatment facilities and water lines is the main task of the first 5-year stage (2007—2011) of the investment project «Complex program of construction and reconstruction of water supply and water disposal objects in Rostov-on-Don and in the south-west of Rostov region».

The project was initiated by JSC «Evrasiyskiy», it is realized together with the Administrations of Rostov region and Rostov-on-Don, included in the list of investment projects carried out with the help of the state by means of the funds of the Investment Fund RF (Order of the Government of the Russian Federation № 1375-Р dated 20.09.2008). In accordance with the present order, 6 660.29 million rubles from the federal budget funds is transferred to the budget of Rostov region for the realization of a complex program with the total cost of more than 33 billion rubles, more than 73% of them are investments from the private investor. The program is being successfully fulfilled owing to the efficient collaboration of the company «Evrasiyskiy» and State corporation «Bank of development and foreign-economic activity (Vnesheconombank)».
